Donald Jackson is an associate and a member of our litigation team.
Before joining Vincent Dagenais Gibson, Donny summered and completed his articles with a litigation boutique in Ottawa.
Donny is a positive, hard-working advocate with an eye for detail. He is resourceful and enjoys canvassing several perspectives to best prepare an effective litigation strategy.
Donny obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, which is where his interest in litigation and oral advocacy began. In law school, Donny competed in two competitive moots, one competitive mediation, and focused his studies on oral advocacy, litigation and dispute resolution. Donny also sat on faculty-student committees and represented the faculty as an English Common Law Ambassador.
Before law school, Donny obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Ontario Tech University in Oshawa, graduating with highest distinction. In his final year, he completed his honours thesis on the long-term effects of foster care, which was published by the Child Welfare Journal in 2021.
When Donny isn’t working, he’s most likely stopping pucks for his men’s league hockey team, at a local car meet, or at the gym. Donny also loves all things music: he has been playing the drums since he was 6, is learning the guitar, and is in a band with his friends from law school. Even though he is now settled in Ottawa, Donny remains a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan.
