Filip Hrga joined Vincent Dagenais Gibson as an associate in 2019, shortly after his call to the bar.

Prior to joining Vincent Dagenais Gibson, Filip completed his Bachelors of Business Administration (Honours with First Class Standing) at Brock University, before setting his sights on law school and obtaining his Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) at the University of Ottawa. During his undergraduate degree, Filip served a one-year voluntary term as the Vice President of Academic Affairs and also developed a new committee dedicated to helping business students improve their analytical and presentation skills. As a law student, Filip was the co-founder and co-president of the Food Law Society, which held various educational events along with charitable initiatives such as annual food drives for the university food bank. Filip completed his articles at a national firm in Ottawa before joining the Vincent Dagenais Gibson team.

Filip was born in Belgrade, Serbia and immigrated to Niagara Falls, Canada as a young child, where he lived until moving to Ottawa for school. Having fallen in love with the city, Filip enjoys exploring Ottawa and the national capital region by going on bike rides, walks, and sampling many of the delicious restaurants the city has to offer.

  • Cannabis Law, including regulatory compliance with Federal, Provincial, and Municipal laws affecting all manner of cannabis and cannabis-related ventures, marketing, advertising, promotional activities, and obtaining licences to cultivate, process, and retail cannabis

  • Food & Beverage Law, including helping individuals and companies meet Food and Drugs Act and Safe Food for Canadians Act regulatory standards concerning nutrition facts, labelling, health claims, and marketing and advertising of food and drinks

  • Wills & Estates Law, including estate planning and drafting of wills
